Our staff continues to monitor development proposals before local governing boards. In doing so the NLC is able to represent environmental interests when important decisions are made. All development proposals before the Planning Board and the Conservation Commission are reviewed by the NLC followed by appropriate recommendations or if necessary, hiring expert consultants for further investigation. These actions ensure that the environment is properly represented when decisions regarding growth and development on Nantucket are made.
